Join us the second weekend of every month for our Second Saturday / Sunday Social! It's also Name Tag Weekend.
Do you know the people you sit by in church week after week? Do you call them by name? As part of our effort to be a welcoming and inviting community, Name Tag Weekend will be held the second weekend of each month, continuing this weekend. You are invited to fill out a name tag as you enter church. Although a simple concept, Name Tag Weekend has proven to be a popular and effective way to help communities get to know each other by name. CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER.

(Pictured above: Joe McGowan, the new leader of our Greeter Ministry,
and fellow greeter, John Russell.) What is “Radical Hospitality”? It’s the kind of genuine love and welcome that Jesus modeled for us. It goes beyond pleasantries and provides a sense of belonging. It offers the space for connection and grows trust and connection. Why is it important? It is what we are called to do as followers of Jesus. Today, with so many things vying for people’s attention and the fact that many of us are busy and fragmented, hospitality must be the foundation of all we do. Did you know that visitors to our parish form an opinion about Divine Mercy and our parishioners within 2 minutes of their arrival? And at Mass, it takes just 11 minutes for a first time visitor to decide whether or not they’ll come back. What Can I Do? A few easy ways to help….. Take time to notice and introduce yourself to those around you at Mass. Make room for those who join your pew. Sit in the middle of the pew! It sounds radical, right? But it helps guests to feel they are welcomed. Join us after Mass when we offer social time and meet someone new. Will you consider joining one of our Welcome Ministries? Experience connection and joy as you help our parish to become more vibrant and welcoming. GREETER MINISTRY Our mission is to joyfully and sincerely welcome each person who enters our doors. A gentle smile and friendly greeting makes all the difference in making people feel welcomed. Serving just once or twice a month will really help us. We need you! For more information, contact Joe McGowan at [email protected] or 312-218-8909 HOSPITALITY MINISTRY Our mission is to help all feel welcomed by providing refreshments. A great ministry for those who enjoy preparing and serving food and drinks. Serve once a month after a weekend Mass. For more information, contact Sue at [email protected] or 847-446-0856.
